Changed Mailrouting behaviour in 9.0.1?

Hi all,

we have recently updated our Servers from 8.5.3 FP6 HF2114 to 9.0.1 FP6 HF131.

After Updateing, I have found that the Servers are behaving different in some ways.

in the "Address lookup" field in the configuration Settings, we always used "Fullname then Local Part" so mail could be delivered if only the local part matched an entry in the public NAB.

After updating to 9.0.1 mail is only delivered with a full match of the complete address.

Also it seems that Routing with foreign SMTP Domain documents is ignored by the router. We have a set of Domains that are routed to some Special Hosts, and a domain-document *.* for all the rest to a relay Server Cluster. After updating, the Domino Server ignored the *.* and tried to route to the recipient Domains itself.

Is this a new documeted behaviour? Is there some documentation available?

Best regards

Ron

Change in configured values for mail routing after upgrading to 9.0.1

I have not observed the changes you described. Even when creating a configuration document for a new server under 9.0.1, I get Fullname then Local Part as the default. Similarly, the Global Domain and Foreign SMTP Domain documents continue to work as they did under 8.5.n. I have not had to make any corrections to my configuration documents or had to recreate them. Have you tried recreating one of the Foreign SMTP Domain documents from scratch to see if the recreated documents work?

That really did it

Thanks for you Suggestion. I created a new Foreign SMTP Domain Document from Scratch and it worked.

In fact, the Dokument wa rather old. At least 10 years. Maybe it was created on Domino 5 or 6, and Domino 9.0.1 uses Design Elements that were not avaiable in that early Versions.

I'll try the same with the configuration Document for the Address Lookup.

What confuses me is, that an --> Edit Document --> hit <F9> --> save Document doesn't update the Document the same way as a new creation.

Best Regards

Ron
